Kristen Fidler combines strategic vision with a wealth of experience in project management and community collaboration across a variety of areas, including environmental and public health, sustainable transportation, and equitable access to resources. Over the course of her career, Kristen has held a number of critical agency positions most recently serving as Assistant Secretary for Aquatic Resources for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and prior to that leading the Maryland Port Administration’s Office of Harbor Development as Director, where she worked closely with the Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District and local community organizations to maintain the safe passage of commerce through navigation channels serving the Port of Baltimore and the operations of nearby dredged material containment facilities. She came to that position from the Maryland Department of Transportation, where she worked on state legislation, regulation, and policy initiatives. For her environmental commitment over many years, Kristen was recognized in 2020 as a Maryland Watershed Champion by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.

A Maryland native, Kristen holds a law degree from the University of Maryland with a concentration in Environmental Law & Policy and two Bachelor degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park: Arts in English Language & Literature; and Science in Business Administration & Management (Marketing).
